Illustrated by an engraved frontis and the title page is illustrated with a vignette. Top (page) edges gilt, others uncut. Marbled endpapers. Light foxing scattered throughout text, and a few small stains on page 5. Previous owner's bookplate on the inside front cover: Walter Shewell Corder, North Shields. Dulce est Desipere in Loco (signed in the plate "Rodo"). Gaskell 34, he notes, "No uncut copy seen." Early edition. . Early edition. Hardcover. Very good- condition. Octavo (8vo).
