(London):: Anvil Press Poetry, (1981).. (London):: Anvil Press Poetry. (1981). First edition. Number 103 of 250 copies SIGNED by Brodsky and his translator, Alan Mayers. Expelled from the Soviet Union, Brodsky moved to America with the help of W.H. Auden and other literary supporters. In 1987 he won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Brodsky would eventually be appointed the Poet Laureate of the United States. From the collection of Bob Wilson, who operated the Phoenix Book Shop in New York City from 1951 to 1989 and was a prominent member of the literary community in the city. Plain black, stapled paperwraps with red printed dust jacket. Fine.
