Officers and Gentlemen.
London: Chapman & Hall,, 1955. A novel. Octavo. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With the dust jacket. A very good copy in the dust jacket, spine panel lightly faded and slightly chipped at ends, rear panel and interior a little foxed. First edition, first impression. Inscribed by the author "For John Chancellor with the author's congratulations Dec 30th 1959". John Chancellor was a British author, publisher and editor, with the book believed to have been a wedding gift from Waugh, as Chancellor married Alice Jolliffe, sister of the Conservative peer Lord Hylton, that year. Chancellor's niece would later marry Waugh's grandson, making this a pleasing association copy.
