Philadelphia: Bradford, Murray, Fairman et al. 1825. First American edition. Hardcover. Good. Ca. 1825, the First American edition. Quarto, original half leather, worn, contents very good and clean, some moderate foxing and first few with old dampstain tidemarks to upper outer corner margin, original owner has also hand-numbered each of the maps in the upper outer corner in old brown ink, not unattractive. 62 separate maps, most either double page or folding, all b/w but for the second to last map, the largest, which is the Melish map of America, handcolored in outline; this map has minor wrinkling and a few short splits and separations at the folds but is in general VG. Map 29, showing navigation and railways of England and the British Isles, has some edgewear and is browned. Most maps in decent condition. We also havemost if not all the text volumes, but none of the other plate volumes. For the actual cost of postage plus an extra $250 we would include the text volumes, which are in good condition with original half leather bindings, somewhat worn along joints, rubbed, etc, some boards detached. 40+ volumes, published between 1805 and 1825. Please inquire. The price below is just for this atlas volume.
