THE HIGH HISTORY OF THE HOLY GRAAL. Translated from the Old French by Sebastian Evans LL.D
J. M. Dent & Co. London. 1903. FIRST JESSIE KING EDITION. Large 8vo (8.9 x 6.2 inches). Fully illustrated by King with Frontispiece, title page, and 22 full page plates plus 36 smaller line illustrations as head and tail pieces to the chapters. Inner front hinge cracked but firm. New front blank free endpaper. Original front blank pastedown and both rear endpapers with some mild foxing but the rest of the book is nice and clean. The half title has had a previous owners name cut from the top of the page, about 1.2 inches deep but not affecting the printed lettering. Original publishers blue cloth with dark blue and gilt lettering and decoration by King to the front board and spine. The cloth is rubbed and the corners bumped. While clean and bright internally, the binding makes this just a good copy of this scarce and very beautiful book. (Colin White; Guide to the printed work of Jessie M. King. B29.ii.).
