FIRST EDITION 1825. 8vo, 215 x 135 mm, 8½ x 5¼ inches, folding map and 4 hand coloured plates, pages: xii, 1-478 plus Errata leaf and leaf of adverts, divisional title pages, attractively rebound in full modern calf, black title label with gilt lettering, extra gilt spine between raised bands, gilt rules to edges of covers, new endpapers, edges yellow, silk bookmark still present. Light foxing to title page, folding map and 4 colour plates, slight offset from frontispiece to title page, 2 pages either side of the map have quite heavy pale brown offset, slight pale brown offset from Ancient Stone colour plate to text, 2 narrow vertical strips of pale browning affecting the inner margin of the blank side of 1 plate and the inner margin of the following page, where something (bookmark?) has been laid in the book, occasional light foxing to margins and text, pages 385-400 have been duplicated, text collated and complete. A very good copy.
