The second edition, after the extremely rare and essentially unobtainable 1808 Carlisle edition, of this most important collection of Indian captivities and border wars. This work is generally described as the best, most famous and therefore most sought after book of Indian warfare. Among the narratives included are those of Dr. Knight, Col. Crawford, John Slover, Mrs. Frances Scott, Frederick Manheim, John Corbly, Isaac Stewart, Massy Harbison, Peter Williamson, Jackson Johonnot, Mary Jordon, Gen. Putnam, Col.
