First Edition. Two Volumes. A third volume was planned, but never published. London, Printed for Sherwood, Jones & Co., 1825 / 1826. 21/22 x 13 cm. Vol.1: Title page, (8)-Preface, cxliii, 493 pages followed by ten plates. / Vol.2: Frontispiece, Title page, (8)-Preface, 501 pages followed by 11 plates. Later half calf over marbled boards. Gilt titles and decorations on spines. Volume 1 with red speckled edges. Volume 2 is almost 1 cm taller than volume 1. Good condition. Binding sound. Corners, spine and boards rubbed and bumped. Edges and pages age darkened and dust dulled. Some pages repaired. Some stains, foxing and browning internally. A few closed tears and some minor paper losses. Frontispiece missing in volume 1. One missing plate (Ross Castle, Co. Kerry) in volume 2
