THE JOHN GERARD HECKSCHER COPY, with three Heckscher bookplates and one of Rudolph August Witthaus; lot 2199 in the Heckscher Sale, 1909, where it brought the very respectable price of $12.00. In half brown morocco slipcase and chemise. First Edition. Engraved portrait frontispiece and engraved portraits in text. 18mo. First Edition of a Rare Izaak Walton Precursor; The Heckscher Copy. Contains a poem of 24 lines, "On a Banck as I sate a Fishing", a description of the Spring, cited in The Compleat Angler.
