La Piscine [The Sinners, The Swimming Pool] (Original still photograph from the 1969 film)
Paris: Société Nouvelle de Cinématographie (SNC), 1969. Vintage black-and-white still photograph from the French release of the 1969 French film noir. Released in the UK as "The Sinners" and in the US as "The Swimming Pool." Written by the noted Jean-Claude Carrière, who penned some of Luis Buñuel's finest work. A very bad day in the life of Jean-Paul, which starts out pleasantly enough with an extra-marital frolic at a swimming pool in St. Tropez but turns into a twisted, masochistic affair involving a fistfight and an accidental death. Set in Saint-Tropez, and shot there on location. 9.25 x 6.75 inches. Near Fine. Grant, p. 506. Spicer, p. 455.
