Colin Grant Clark (1905-89) was a British economist and statistician. He was widely noted for his groundbreaking work in economic statistics and national income estimates, Clark was also among the first economists to use gross national product rather than national income as the basis of his studies. In his best known work "The Conditions of Economic Progress" he presented the first study to make quantitatively evident the gulf between European countries and the rest of the world
