Danzi studied under Abbe Vogler at the Mannheim School of Music and played the cello in the famous Mannheim Orchestra. He is best-known for his dramatic works, of which his comic opera Die Mitternachtstunde is considered to be one of his most successful.. Oblong folio. Modern dark blue cloth-backed marbled boards with red leather title label gilt to upper. 1f. (title), [i] (blank), 2-183, [i] (publisher's catalogue) pp. Engraved. Partially uncut. Binding slightly worn. Occasional soiling, foxing and staining; title and final leaf soiled and torn at margins, not affecting notation; small binder's holes to inner margins.
