Chicago: Thomas Knudtson, 1960. Several spirals missing to binding at rear; black front end paper detached; some photographs lightly rubbed; a very good copy in spiral-bound black boards.. Limited Edition. Spiral-bound quarto. Handwritten colophon at rear. One of 2 copies printed. The other was given to Mayor Daley of Chicago. Stiff black paper boards. SIGNED by Knudtson. Eighteen 10 x 8 inch gelatin silver photographs mounted back to back. Featuring Mayor Daley's Torchlight Parade, with exceptional images and montages of Kennedy supporters. One shot each of Robert and Jack Kennedy. Certain pictures have the feel of Japanese protest photography. An exceptional historical and artistic document of American politics. Knudston studied under Harry Callahan at the Art Institute of Chicago, and served as a senior Artist-in-Residence for a program sponsored by the Chicago council of Fine Arts in the 1970s.
