FIRST COLLECTED EDITION 1762, 2 volumes complete, MAGNA CARTA AFTER INTRODUCTION IS IN LATIN 8vo, approximately 205 x 120 mm, 8 x 4¾ inches, 8 engraved plates of seals and 2 tables,1 folding, pages: Volume 1, [4], [3]-257, [6]; Volume 2, [4], [III]-CXV (Introduction), [4], [1]-135, [8], bound in full contemporary calf, maroon gilt lettered labels to spines, blind decoration to covers. Binding slightly rubbed, scuffed and marked, Volume 1 has 1½ inch crack to head of lower hinge, Volume 2 has 1 inch crack to head of both hinges, covers firmly attached, corners slightly bumped and worn, Volume 1 has tiny chip to tail of spine, faint worm track to first few pages of Volume 1, hardly visible, tiny hole to 1 page just affecting 1 letter, easily understood, a few margins slightly dusty, occasional small brown spot, faint browning to 1 table, pastedowns and free endpapers have brown staining to outer edges, otherwise a very good set. Four of Blackstone's early works: Collateral Consanguinity, Considerations on Copyholders, The Law of Descents, and the whole of Volume 2 on the Magna Charter.
