Dark brown pebble cloth hardcover with gilt illustrated title and "Denver & Rio Grande R R Scenic Line of the World" seal on front board. Repaired. New brown cloth backstrip. Front and rear end sheets replaced. Hinges repaired. Cloth worn and lightly spotted lower half of front board. Cloth on rear board lightly spotted and worn. 8 of the plate images were taken by W Jackson, famous Western photographer. Views include Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, Marshall Pass and many others. Several illustrated advertisements. Presentation copy: Inscribed "To The Hon. J. Russell Jones with kind regards of James Gorant (sp?), Secretary of the Guarantee Co. of N. America Chicago 2 of 9/88." Jones was President of the West Side Rail Way in Chicago.
