F. Hiltebrandt delin', 'Jacob Petrus Sculpsit Erffurti'.Title-page in red and black, repaired at lower foredge corner, not affecting text, and with old strengthening on verso.Minor repair at top gutter edge of Plate facing p.36 with slight loss.Delightful, decorative head- and tail-pieces.This important first monograph on elephants was originally published in 1715.However, this 1723 edition, with its new title-page and index, is considered to be superior.Tanned in places, as usual with German printing of this period.
