THE POSTHUMOUS PAPERS OF THE PICKWIC CLUB (The Pickwick Papers), with 43 illustrations by R Seymour and Phiz
London: Chapman and Hall, 1837. 20.5 x 13 cm, pp. xiv, [ii] - Directions to Binder and Errata, 609. Half rust coloured morocco and cloth bound by Zaehnsdorf, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, gilt-stamped in the compartments, titles direct to spine. From the library of Canadian literary giant, Robertson Davies with his bookplate to front pastedown. Very lightly rubbed, interior quite clean and crisp. A very good, handsome copy of an early first edition with the Buss plates. (See our offer of Dickens's "David Copperfield" in uniform binding - would make a nice set, handsome on the shelf.). First Edition. Half Leather. Very Good. Octavo.
