1950 - WANDREY, Ralph H. FIGHTER PILOT. [Mason City, Iowa: Stoyles Press, 1950]. Small quarto, pictorial beige cloth stamped in red, white & blue; 82 pages. First Edition. "Iron Pants" Wandrey was an ace combat-fighter during World War II flying P47s and P-38s in the Pacific for 21 months against Japanese fighters. He flew wingman to highly-decorate ace Richard Bong and Charles Lindbergh was his wingman for a couple of missions in Europe as a government special advisor. Signed by Wandrey in blue ink on his frontispiece photograph. An uncommon book on Word War II aviation but signed copies are scarce.
