Tight, clean and square binding. Straight spine; book stands straight. Crisp, heavy-stock laid paper. Smooth text pages pristine and unmarred with no annotations, marks or tears; no loose pages. John Stuart Mill is considered "the most influential English-speaking philosopher of the nineteenth century." Wilson, Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Mill's conception of liberty justified the freedom of the individual as opposed to unlimited state control.
