[Pittsburgh, PA], [ca 1955-1959]. Near fine. 4to. String-tied commercial album containing 132 B&W silver gelatin photographs mounted recto and verso to 13 leaves. Five photoa additionally laid in loosely. Remaining pages blank. One photo apparently perished, else appears complete. Near fine codition overall. A warm family album of varied scope taken in and around the Pittsburgh African American community. Subjects include: bars, parties, parades, travel, buildings and architecture, beach resorts, family and friends, etc. with a nice mix of both posed and candid. A handful of images captioned, many others dated in the print. A vivid portrait of middle class postwar African American life.
