Samuel Rousseau (1763-1820) was a British orientalist, and cousin of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. He had his printing press in London at Clerkenwell where he commissioned Arabic letters to create the first Arabic press in Great Britain. He compiled the first Arabic-English dictionary and translated and printed the first English language editions of several important Arabic and Persian works most prominently The Flowers of Persian Literature and Vocabulary of the Persian Language.
