Lines from Elegy written in a Country Churchyard, with etchings Drawn in Sussex Churchyards.
London: Susan Allix, 1997. No. 8 of 20 copies, signed by Allix. 17 original etchings, 2 with addition colour and 4 hand coloured. Hand set and printed letterpress in Granby light italic on Velin Arches paper with alternate pages folded at the fore-edge. 2 pages printed on black Japanese paper. 19.5 x 15 cms, 7.75 x 6 ins, bound in black goatskin, by Susan Allix, with a panel cut out of upper board and replaced with glass etched with title and a gravestone and held in place with two hexagonal goatskin-covered knobs. Housed in the original cloth drop-back box with goatskin label. The drawings for these etchings were made in the village churchyards of Alciston, Arlington, Bishopstone, Folkington, Friston, Jevington, Litlington and West Dean in East Sussex. The poem is presented in a slightly abridged version.
