III plate 14 repaired to lengthy tear. A good set. First editions, first impressions, handsomely bound, of this richly illustrated survey of English furniture, the most comprehensive to date. Macquoid's four "ages" are still terms used today, and the books remain an essential reference guide for dealers and collectors of antique furniture.
