Huidobro (Vicente).
Automne régulier. Poèmes
Paris: Librairie de France, F. Sant' Andrea, L. Marcerou & Cie, 1925. Vicentre Huidobro, Creationist Poetry in French * A Fine Association Copy *in-8, 51 p; inscribed to Louis de Gonzague-Frick, poète et critique littéraire proche des mouvements d'avant-garde du xxe siècle; wrappers.RARE CREATIONAL POEMS WRITTEN BY VICENTE HUIDOBRO BETWEEN 1918 AND 1922, in Paris. In the career of the Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro, the clearly creationist period runs from 1917, the year in which he published his first creationist poems in the Parisian magazine Nord-Sud, until 1925, date in which his Manifestes, summary and defense of the creationist doctrine, and the last two collections of creationist verses appear in Paris, Automne regulier and Tout a coup; during these years Huidobro proposes in his theoretical writings an autonomous poetry, free of narrative and descriptive elements. It is a program that goes against the romantic concept of the role of poetry and the poet that Huidobro had enunciated in Chile before moving to Europe in 1916. The cold aestheticism of his fellow cubists from Nord-Sud does not satisfy the poet's wishes, half-repressed during the aforementioned years, of making prophetic poetry and magic. Beginning in 1925 these desires erupt into a type of poetry that violates cubist and creationist taboos, especially in the poem Altazor.#WorldCat: 4 copies in US Libraries.
