Clancy, Tom
Novels] Finely bound collection of his works, including The Hunt for Red October (1984), Red Storm Rising (1986), Clear and Present Danger (1989); and nine other titles signed by the author, all in first edition
Naval Institute Press; G. P. Putnam's Sons, Annapolis, Maryland; New York, 2002. First editions. 12 vols. 8vo. A finely bound set of first editions of Tom Clancy, the quintessential author of late Cold War thrillers, noted for his technical accuracy and taut pacing. Clancy's first novel The Hunt for Red October (1984), was published in comparatively small numbers by Naval Institute Press (the first issue jacket, as here, bears no printed price); it proved a runaway best seller and was adapted for the 1990 film starring Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin, who was the first to portray Clancy's potagonist CIA analyst Jack Ryan. The novels Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger were filmed starring Harrison Ford as Ryan, and Ben Affleck played him in the film adaptation of The Sum of All Fears. The following titles are all signed by the author: Red Storm Rising (1986); Patriot Games (1987); The Cardinal of the Kremlin (1988); The Sum of All Fears (1991); Without Remorse (1993); Debt of Honor (1994); Executive Orders (1996); Rainbow Six (1998); The Bear and the Dragon (2000); and Red Rabbit (2002). Full morocco gilt, gilt turn-ins, decorative endpapers, preserving original dust jackets at back, t.e.g., chiefly for Asprey's. Fine, immaculate set [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
