New York: Henry Holt, 1944. Stated First Printing. Price of $3.00 front flap. SIGNED BY AUTHOR Ernie Pyle on the front endpage, and SCARCE THUS. Laid in is the program for the Indiana University Convocation, dated Monday Morning, November Thirteenth, 1944, where Pyle received the first Degree of Humane Letters ever presented at Indiana University and where he presumably signed this copy. Pyle died a short 5 months later, on April 18, 1945. Indiana University's School of Journalism Ernie Pyle Hall was dedicated in October, 1954. Very Good Plus, faint shading front boards, in a Very Good dustjacket, spine sunned, small chips and edge tears. 2 small areas faint discoloration front panel, interior front panel shows faint dampstain.
