The diary of a high-ranking official of the English military during World War I serving as part of the British mission to Russia.The author is unknown, but he works directly with Major-General Sir John Hanbury-Williams, who was the head of the British military mission in Russia. The author discusses having meetings, dinners, and conversations with Ministers of War Alexei Polivanov and Mikhail Belyaev, the Russian Imperial Family including Tsar Nicolas II and his wife, Alexandra, and other high-ranking Russian army officials. He is traveling to the front and makes observations along the way of the posts he visits regarding wartime conditions, updates about supplies, and reports of fighting.
