CHRISTIE, [Dame] Agatha (1890-1976).
Ordeal By Innocence.
London: For The Crime Club by Collins, 1958. [Crime Fiction] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.256. Publisher's red cloth, titled in black, with typographical dust-wrapper priced at 10/6. Jacket very lightly nicked; a near fine copy of what appears to be a trial jacket - this one with a hot press-type finish and with brighter shade of orange, also priced at 10/6 whereas the book was published at 12/6. The folds indicate it may have been around a proof copy at some stage. One for the Christie completist. A novel concerning retrospective or belated justice which brings murder into a truly domestic setting, 'Ordeal By Innocence' was one of the author Agatha Christie's own favourites. Basis for the chilling movie starring Faye Dunaway and Donald Sutherland. Wagstaff and Poole p.212. See also Cooper and Pike; Detective Fiction. HUBIN; Crime Fiction IV. [Attributes: First Edition; In Dust Jacket]
Bookseller: Adrian Harrington [UNITED KINGDOM]
