J. J. Rousseau justifié envers sa patrie. Ouvrage dans lequel on a inséré plusieurs lettres de cet homme célébre, qui n'ont point encore paru.
'A Londres' [Geneva], 1775. First edition of this defence of Rousseau by a Genevan republican patriot, who includes numerous long extracts from Rousseau's letters, which appear to have been otherwise unpublished. 8vo (190 × 115 mm), pp. [6], 79, [1], complete with half-title. Title with ornamental borders and woodcut ornament, typographical ornaments to text. Some spotting and the occasional ink stain. Uncut in original block printed coloured wrappers (an unusual design with flowers and a decorative frieze over a lattice-work ground). Slightly frayed (spine mostly absent, but stitching secure). [ESTC: Göttingen, Polish Academy of Sciences Library, Wisconsin and Western Michigan University only (there is also a copy at Cambridge). Conlon 548.] [Attributes: First Edition; Soft Cover]
