Contemporary mottled calf gilt. 5 raised bands to spine with gilt in compartments; Morocco lettering piece, red edges. Marbled eps. Title printed in red and black with woodcut vignette. 404pp. 11 folding engraved plates; diagrams, tables. Richard Helsham (c.1682-1738), was a well-known medical doctor in 18th century Dublin, and personal physician to Jonathan Swift. His pupil Bryan Robinson undertook the publication of Helsham's lectures after his death. Provenance from Earls of Macclesfield Library, with Bookplate to front paste down and blind stamp to tp.
