FIRST EDITION 1777 (Dedication dated Sept. 20, 1777), 8vo, approximately 210 x 130 mm, 8¼ x 5 inches, hand coloured engraved frontispiece and 17 hand coloured engraved plates at rear, pages: (16), (16 - Subscriber's List + 1 blank leaf), 1-286, (2 - advert), collation; a8, T8, A-S8, bound in full contemporary calf, gilt ruled and decorated spine, recent gilt lettered red morocco label, all edges pale yellow. Tiny chip to leather surface at tail of spine with small neat repair, covers very slightly marked, tiny repair to 2 board corners, small printer's ink smudge on page 168, no loss, tiny ink blot in lower margin of 1 plate, otherwise a very good clean tight copy of the first edition.
