All titles printed in red and black. Some foxing and minor stains, recurring light dampstain in upper margin. Wax stain on last plate in part three. Contemporary half calf, spines worn, marbled boards, all edges sprinkled red and blue. Two volumes. From the library of L. F. Rääf at Forsnäs, and with its exlibris. Owner's signatures of [Leonh X] in both volumes. Later 8:vo edition, the same printer published a 4:o edition the same year. Important work as being one of the first really thorough French books on military tactics. First printed in 1731 it was a great success and was printed in several new editions throughout the 18th century and was translated into German, English and Dutch.
