Illustrated with folding engraved map as frontispiece, 33 engraved plates and 17 pedigrees, many of which are folding. Volume II: [4], 484, clxviii [Appendix], [13 leaves facsimile of Domesday], 32 [Observations], [9 Index], [1] pages. Illustrated with 42 Plates and pedigrees. Bound in relatively recent half tan calf over marbled boards, with two black gilt labels to each spine. Folio. First edition. The first volume lacks the pedigree of Talbot Earl of Shrewsbury, but has an extra plate of the coat of arms of the Earl of Coventry. Volume II has two additional plates, both coats of arms, that are extra to the above collation. There is a short tear at the edge of the map; one page is quite heavily foxed; leading edge of one folding pedigree a little tatty; short tear to margin of one plate; else a very good and handsome set.
