Book Condition: Fine SIGNED Print Condition: Fine SIGNED Publisher's Description: One of the main arteries between Queens and Manhattan is the IRT '7' subway and rail line. Jeff Liao lives along this route, and takes the train every day. Over the course of many journeys, he has developed a connection with his fellow passengers, many of them fellow immigrants who, he believes, share his dream of a better life in America. Liao walked the length of the line and selected locations where there was evidence of the '7', even if there was no train in sight. These photographs show wide sweeps of the neighborhood with such an amazing depth and perspective that it is a surprise to learn that he does not use a panoramic camera. Instead, he makes several 8 x 10 negatives of the same scene and combines them digitally, taking up to 60 hours to complete one composition. His technique is as breathtaking as the pictures he produces, and is described in greater detail in the essays by Anne Wilkes Tucker and Tom Finkelpearl. CHECK … [Click Below for Full Description]

(Center for Book Arts).
(New York: Center for Book Arts, 2007). Twelve broadsides, each representing the work of an individual poet who gave a reading at the Center for Book Arts in New York, are enclosed in an artistic portfolio that not only provides protection but also appeals to the eye. As part of the Broadside Reading Series, each author creates a broadside of one of their poems that captures the essence of the verse and the story they are telling. Includes works by Kevin Prufer, Scott Hightower, Amy Lemmon, Jennifer Kwon Dobbs, David Lehman, Colette Inez, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Nicole Walker, Brenda Connor-Bey, D.A. Powell, Nicole Cooley and Emily Fragos. Produced in a signed limited edition of 100, the broadsides are reserved for the yearly portfolios. The design of the 2007 portfolio, which was created last year, features a center opening that fastens with grey grosgrain ribbon. The boards are covered in paper printed with a design of letters in shades of blue over grey rectangles. The title in red is repeated in various fonts and sizes on the front while on the back, the single line is framed top and bottom with two lines of printers' ornaments. The front cover flaps open to reveal a pop-up box that contains the individual broadsides.

Eskildsen, Joakim:
Steidl, 2007.

Hinterdeckel minimal berieben, sonst gutes Exemplar. [Click Below for Full Description]

Marco Richon
Like Brand New.Anybody can buy a book. This book isn't just any book. It's an opportunity to invest in an appreciating asset. This is a rare & beautiful book by Marco Richon, esteemed Curator of the Omega Museum in Bern, Switzerland (1983-2009) who sadly passed in 2017. This was his last book & enduring legacy. This book is one of only 5,000 printed in English out of a single 10,000 run held in conjunction with 2007's historic "Omegamania "auction. VA "must have" for the serious wristwatch collector. Price reduced. Originally listed for $850.00. Untouched, pristine, like new condition. This is a must have book for the serious collector, more an investment in a rare book than a buy, with only 5,000 copies in English out of limited 10,000 run in conjunction with the historic "Omegamania" auction in 2007. The author, Marco Richon, who passed in 2017, was the renowned curator of the Omega Museum in Berne, Switzerland. This beautiful & iconic book, his lasting legacy, is the most authoritative reference book on Omega watches ever written, going back to the beginning in the 1800s, long before the formation of the large brands we know today, including a condensed version of "The Omega Saga" (1998) by same author. The "Omega Saga" was heretofore recognized as the most complete and authoritative history of the storied Omega brand. This thick, 831 page, 9.5 lbs, 12" tall, "10" wide covers 1,001 specific watches, beginning with the 19th century sister brands that merged over time to create the Omega brand. There are 6,625 high quality illustrations with roughly 70% collector-quality four- … [Click Below for Full Description]

2007. Condition: Very Good. A very good, very rare, signed (to bookplate tipped to acknowledgement page - see picture), first impression, first edition, hardback book in a very good, unclipped d.j. Small owners name to top corner, inside front board. Bookplate signed in 2007. A well-preserved first edition account of this history-making discovery. About this book:"Science seldom proceeds in the straightforward logical manner imagined by outsiders," writes James Watson in The Double Helix, his account of his codiscovery (along with Francis Crick) of the structure of DNA. Watson and Crick won Nobel Prizes for their work, and their names are memorised by biology students around the world. But as in all of history, the real story behind the deceptively simple outcome was messy, intense, and sometimes truly hilarious. To preserve the "real" story for the world, James Watson attempted to record his first impressions as soon after the events of 1951-1953 as possible, with all their unpleasant realities and "spirit of adventure" intact. Watson holds nothing back when revealing the petty sniping and backbiting among his colleagues, while acknowledging that he himself was a willing participant in the melodrama. In particular, Watson reveals his mixed feelings about his famous colleague in discovery, Francis Crick, who many thought of as an arrogant man who talked too much, and whose brilliance was appreciated by few. This is the joy of The Double Helix--instead of a chronicle of stainless-steel heroes toiling away in their sparkling labs, Watson's chronicle gives readers an idea of w … [Click Below for Full Description]
