Dufay, Guillaume; Johannes Okeghem
France: Vincent Garcia Editores, 2007. Limited edition. Hardcover. NNear Fine. Approx. 7" x 9". 73+ 2 leaves, 146+4pp. Limited to 1380 copies, this is # 138. Heart shaped, bound in red velvet in hand made presentation case bound in gilt tooled leather. Description and notarized authentication comprise the four extra pages at end. The book is fine, the case has a light edge-bump and a couple small , very light marks. "This beautiful, heart-shaped codex was compiled around 1470 for a nobleman named Jean de Montchenu. It contains forty-four polyphonic chansons (thirty in French and fourteen in Italian), written by such notable composers as Guillaume Dufay, Johannes Ockeghem, and Antoine Busnois. True to the chansonnier's design (the codex opens into the shape of two hearts joined as one), the subject of these chansons is courtly love. The pages are detailed with illuminated miniatures, gold-flecked initials, and fantastical flora and fauna. The chansonnier made its way from the hands of Jean de Montchenu in the 15th century to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in 1933. This meticulously reproduced facsimile, one of a limited edition of 1380 copies, brings this musical and historical treasure from France to our collection."-http://scholar.library.miami.edu/facsimile/montchenu.html

United States: 2007. brand new & unread. Rough Work by Frank Frazetta in slipcase. Artist proof family # 5. VERY RARE. There were to be 10 of these that Frank colored in the sabre tooth tiger & then hand drew & colored a background. # 10 was done & sold. # 6 through # 9 were never done. 1 through 5 were to go to the family, hence the AP Family. I own # 1 & his grandson has # 2, & I've sold # 3 & 4, so there is only one more of these in the world that will be sold & they all are different. You won't find a lower number anywhere. It comes in a Maroon slipcase while the regular edition had a black one. It also comes with a COA signed by Frank Frazetta, Jr. I only ship to the US. This will be sent by priority mail insured in a box with signature required for delivery as eBay requires that due to the value, If shipping is less than you paid I will refund the difference. Payment by PayPal is due at the time of purchase. Check my other listings for more RARE Frazetta collectibles both signed & unsigned. The dust jacket has issues at three edges, one is a split and dent on the top left edge, the second is split on the bottom left edge and the third a dent on the left front edge. Please note the photographs carefully as they are part of the description and condition of the books and jacket. DESCRIPTION Up for auction is an out of print two volume book in a dust jacket by gallerist Patrick Seguin. The jacket measures approximately 12 inches long, 10 1/8 inches wide and 3 inches thick. The books are a first addition from 2007. EDITION GALERIE PATRICK SEGUIN & SONNABEND GALLERY, 2007 615 pages, 2 volume boxed set French-English ISBN : 978-2-909187-00-6 "The French architect and designer Jean Prouvé is considered essential to the history of twentieth century design. Prouvé's furniture designs were determined by the interior spaces the pieces would inhabit, and they developed in tandem with the Modernist principles of the "art of living" and "harmonious habitat" that were so characteristic of the time. This exquisitely produced and comprehensive volume, which was put together by Paris' Galerie Patrick Seguin and New York's Sonnabend Gallery--where Prouvé was the subject of a critically-acclaimed 2003 solo exhibition--fills a hole in the existing scholarship, most of which focuses on Prouvé's architecture. It includes a collection of interviews with collectors and design professionals, a detailed biography of Prouvé by his daughter, Catherine Prouvé, and essays by design historian Raymond Guidot and a … [Click Below for Full Description]

Homer (Autor), Anton Christian (Illustrator), Kurt Steinmann (Übersetzer) Nachwort: Walter Burkert Übersetzer Kurt Steinmann Vergil Dante Shakespeare König Odysseus Kyklopen Polyphem Skylla Charybdis Penelope Versepos Ilias
Rothfuss, Patrick
New York: Daw Books / Penguin, 2007. Signed by the Author. SIGNED-Octavo. Black boards quarterbound in a black backstrip with shiny gilt lettering on the spine. Very light bumping att thhe head and tail of the spine. White endpapers. Signed by the author on the title page in black pen. Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 661 pages. This copy is tight, square and sharp-uncommon in this condition with the author's signature, and a book that will continue to appreciate as Rothfuss's career continues to develop. This remarkably well written work is a bold declaration that science fiction, fantasy, and other "outlying" genres can be just as literary as realistic fiction. Dust Jacket-has just a trace of rubbing at the very tips of the two upper outside corners. 1/2" closed tear in the lower edge of the front cover. Jacket would be an easy NF grade, but somwhere alont the way was torn from top to bottom along the front edge of the spine. Previous owner has matched it up and repaired it with clear tape and, between that and it's dust jacket cover, the book has a very nice overall appearance. The first printing of this book was published with two variant dust jackets-this copy has the face in the leaves, not the Kvoth cover. Rare. NF in VG+ jacket. Thomas Hardy (1840-1928) is one of Britain's most influential Victorian novelists and poets; he often wrote of tragic characters struggling against their passions and social circumstances, and was nominated twice for the Nobel Prize in Literature. In addition to being a writer of prose he was a prolific poet; from 1898 until his death in 1928 Hardy published eight volumes of poetry, with about one thousand poems being published in his lifetime. As is often the case, his inspiration came from life; Hardy's wife, Emma, died in November 1912 in the attic room of their house where she had lived estranged from him; their marriage had hardened into an empty shell and Hardy had long been in love with Florence Dugdale, whom he married the following year. However, on reading Emma's secret memoirs detailing his cruelty and the breakdown of their marriage, Hardy was hit by an avalanche of grief. He returned to the north Cornish coast of their courtship and spent the rest of 1912 and 1913 producing his most lyrical and abiding collection of poetry. In this lovely version by The Old Stile Press, Mark Cazalet's images act as visual equivalents for the extraordinary insights Hardy found in the depths of his experience, with the sequence of poems arranged to suggest Hardy's gradual reconciliation to guilt and grief, resolving into a dawning sense of acceptance. Baudelaire, Charles; Rothchild, Judith (Artist)
[Octon, France]: Verdigris, 2007. Rothchild, Judith. Limited Edition. Number 2 of 33 copies, forty-eightmo size, [9] pp., signed by printer Mark Lintott and Judith Rothchild, text in French. This poem by Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867) was intended as an epigraph for the second edition of "Le Fleurs du mal" [The Flowers of Evil], first published in 1857 and a major work of both the symbolism and modernist movements. Upon its publication, Baudelaire was prosecuted by the Second Regime in France and fined 300 francs, and six poems were suppressed for their erotic content (the ban on these poems was not lifted in France until nearly one hundred years later, in 1949) (n. b., info from Wikipedia). "Epigraphe" was never used in the second edition, but was inserted into the third edition of "Le Fleurs du mal", and the poem is printed here as an accordion book inside a case. This edition is heightened by rich prints by Judith Rothchild (b. 1950), with heavy drypoint marks surrounding the text of the poem and mezzotints at the beginning and end of the accordion. The darkly haloed eyes on either end of the poem evoke the challenge presented by Baudelaire: "Ton oeil sait plonger dans les gouffres. . .[Your eye knows how to dive into the chasms. . .]". ___DESCRIPTION: Accordion book in a case with quarter grey cloth with marbled paper covered boards, title in black on the front board, grey paper spine lable with black lettering, green paste-down endpapers, accordion with green paper front board with title in black, attached to the back board of the case by the last page, title page with … [Click Below for Full Description]

Saltzwedel, Caroline (Artist)
Hamburg: Hirundo Press, 2007. Saltzwedel, Caroline. Limited Edition. No. 4 of 10 bound sets, total edition 25 (plus 2 Artist's Proof and 1 HC), elephant folio size, with 12 etchings, each numbered and signed by the artist, text in German. Caroline Saltzwedel, born in England, has lived in Hamburg since 1995 as a graphic artist and painter; in 1998 she founded the Hirundo Press for artists' books in small editions. Her works are in numerous public and private collections including the Bodleian Library, Stanford University, and the Widener Library (Harvard) among many others. Caroline's works are often paired with original, new works of poetry or are based on mythological or other classical figures. This work was inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832); as Caroline wrote regarding this work, "The Four Elements of ancient mythology have been a timeless source of inspiration to painters and poets alike- not least Goethe, whose West-ostlicher Divan [West-Eastern Divan] is only one work in which their presence is felt. This cycle dedicates three etchings to each of the elements Fire, Water, Air and Earth (the order they appear in German), and is prefaced by the poem 'Allleben' from the Divan. The twelve full-page etchings are each numbered, titled, and signed by the artist in pencil. ___DESCRIPTION: Bound in red linen cloth with three bands of paper inlaid on the front of custom-made crinkle paper by Susanne Krause of Hamburger Buntpapier, title blind-embossed on the spine, all edges uncut, title page with a design that mirrors the front board with three bands of colou … [Click Below for Full Description]

Sager, Paula; Hamlin, Lizbeth; Hobson, Charles (Artist); Whitman, Walt (Excerpt)
[San Francisco]: Pacific Editions, 2007. Hobson, Charles. Limited Edition. Number 23 of 38 copies, oblong quarto size, [36] pp., signed by Paula Sager, Lizbeth Hamlin and Charles Hobson. From the web site of Charles Hobson: "Red Thread, Two Women is a rhythmic, flowing collaborative poem, exploring human insight, discovery and personal growth. The poets, Paula Sager and Lizbeth Hamlin, are practitioners and teachers of Authentic Movement, a practice that is concerned with the exploration of relationship. In its simplest form there is a mover and a witness. The mover, with eyes closed, waits for an impulse to move. The witness follows or tracks his or her own experience while being present and attentive to the mover. The design of the book has been inspired by the poem and evokes the experience imbedded in the writing. The string/thread acts like a drawn line and can be moved around by the reader to change the "drawing" and the experience. The reverse of the book uses images of beets, accentuating characteristics of the poem - their string-like roots and the fullness and ripeness of their shape. The back pages also carry and emphasize individual words from the poem: voice, awaken, heart, distance, silence, tears, flame, breath, birth." The work includes an excerpt from Walt Whitman's poem "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry." ___DESCRIPTION: Original quarter red cloth with digitally printed paper label affixed to backstrip, digitally printed pictorial paper covered boards, housed in a red cloth slipcase, red paper pastedowns, concertina loosely affixed to the lower pastedown at the for … [Click Below for Full Description]

Rowling, J.K.
Bloomsbury. J.K. Rowling (2007) ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows‘, UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed and inscribed by Rowling on the title page: “to Lindsey [signature]”, certified with the official hologram as called for (bearing the 21/07/07 date). By the time of publication signed Harry Potter books have become so valuable that a plethora of forgeries have permeated the market. Aware of this problem, the publisher issued the hologram sticker authenticating Rowling’s signature. There was only one signing event for this title in the UK: the midnight signing at the Natural History Museum in London on 20 July 2007, for which only 1,700 lucky ticket winners were admitted. Please note, that ‘signed’ copies not bearing the hologram sticker are to 99 percent forgeries and in any case worthless for collectors unless some substantial provenance can be presented. Condition: a near fine copy with just a little of shelf wear as shown. The seventh and last volume in the seminal Harry Potter series which took the book world by storm igniting Potter-mania amongst kids (and at that stage adults as well). The first print run for this book was a staggering 8 million copies. However, since effectively only about 1,700 copies were signed at the only official signing on 20 July 2007 ‘Deathly Hallows’ sells for a considerably higher price than many earlier volumes in the Potter series. Adapted as a two-part movie in 2010 and 2011. First and Fine [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
