USA: Nelson Signature Series NKJV John MacArthur Reference Bible Calfskin NEW L@@K ! This is one of the most sought after Bibles today. Rare and highly collectible, you won't want to miss this opportunity, especially on one in this condition. Nothing has been spared in making Signature Series Bibles into examples of the finest Bible craftsmanship. I have had Signature Series Bibles before that were bound by Abba Bindery. I couldn't verify it with Nelson, but this binding looks and feels the same. Because of the leather lining, it is the softest, most supple calfskin imaginable (Nelson's states these calfskin covers should not be embossed with name, etc.). Each Bible has been hand tooled to produce a breathtaking line of Bibles guaranteed for generations to come. The quality components will stand up to years of wear. This Bible offers an array of features to help you delve more deeply into God's Word. This New King James Version (NKJV) MacArthur Study Bible was published by Thomas Nelson, and is part of their lauded " Signature Series " of Bibles. It was printed in the United States of America, in 2005. I have Signature Series Bibles that were bound by Abba Bindery. I couldn't verify it with Nelson, but this binding looks and feels the same. The calfskin is a matte finish and is hard to capture the grain with a camera. Because of the leather lining, it is the softest, most supple calfskin imaginable (Nelson's states these calfskin covers should not be embossed with name, etc.). It has 3 decorative raised hubs and some tastefully simple gold embossing on the spine. There are … [Click Below for Full Description]

Spublisher, "2005. [Midnight Paper Sales] Schanilec, Gaylord
Stockholm, WI: Midnight Paper Sales, 2005. Hardcover. Number 8 of 50 copies of the deluxe edition, signed by the author. There were also 300 copies issued in the standard edition and 50 copies issued unbound. Includes thirteen entomological identifications of mayfly specimens. For three years fly fisherman (and artist) Gaylord Schanilec became entranced by the mayflies he found fluttering about his favorite fishing spots lining the Mississippi River. He collected countless specimens, which he examined under his microscope and sent to entomologist Clarke Garry for identification. According to the author "to be included in this book, a mayfly had to be of importance to fly fishers - and I also had to catch one." Each specimen is illustrated with a color wood engraving and described with a scientific and at times poetic set of key characteristics. This deluxe edition is housed in a slipcase with a glass window at the top revealing eight fly fishing flies hand tied by David Lucca. The book is accompanied by a portfolio that contains seven proof sheets and an extra suite of the 13 engravings, each titled and signed. It is bound in full brown leather with a gilt fly on the spine, and the portfolio is bound with leather spine and green paper boards. The wood engravings in the book are printed on Gampi Torinoko paper. The type was composed by hand in Bembo Monotype. The slipcase is edged in matching leather with panels covered in green paper; the glass window is held into place with wood and the base is also wood. Roberts, John G. and John Paul Stevens
Color photograph of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice John Paul Stevens standing in front of the Supreme Court following Roberts' oath-taking. Boldly signed on the mat below their images by both Roberts and Stevens. Matted and framed with an original invitation to the swearing in ceremony for Roberts held at the court on October 3, 2005. As senior member of the Court, Stevens administered the oath of office at the ceremony. The photograph measures 9.5 inches by 6.5 inches. The entire framed piece measures 16 inches by 18.5 inches. John G. Roberts took the Constitutional oath of office, administered by Associate Justice John Paul Stevens at the White House, on September 29. On October 3, he took the judicial oath provided for by the Judiciary Act of 1789 at the United States Supreme Court building, prior to the first oral arguments of the 2005 term. At age 50, Roberts became the youngest member of the Court, and the third-youngest person to have ever become Chief Justice (John Jay was appointed at age 44 in 1789 while John Marshall was appointed at age 45 in 1801). However, many Associate Justices, such as Clarence Thomas (appointed at age 43) and William O. Douglas (appointed at age 40 in 1939), have joined the Court at a younger age than Roberts. Justice Antonin Scalia said that Roberts "pretty much run[s] the show the same way" as Rehnquist, albeit "let[ting] people go on a little longer at conference ... but [he'll] get over that."

(Center for Book Arts). Bringhurst, Robert.
(New York: Center for Book Arts, 2005). Edition limited to 75 signed and numbered copies, including five artist proofs, with only 25 copies for sale. This innovative interdisciplinary work intersects at the pinnacle of creative writing, graphic design, book art, and performance. This is a poem for three voices, meant to be read by three people at once. In addition to the poem, the author has written an afterword articulating the evolution of his polyphonic poetry, documenting for the reader a history of this definitive edition. The work is made to be performed, and his essay concludes, "The printed text should be as fine as it can be, but it should never be the final incarnation. A book must be a place where things begin." The display type was set by hand, and the text was printed by the Center's Master Printer, Barbara Henry at their Jane Mead Timken Printshop in three separate colors in Monotype Dante by, with composition by the Bixler Foundry in Skaneateles, NY.The text was then hand word and line spaced at the Center by Ms. Henry to Robert Bringhurst's exacting specifications. Mr. Bringhurst created the typographic design for the book, as well as the text. Hedi Kyle designed the innovative binding structure specifically for New World Suite Number Three. When opened, each volume within the book forms its own lectern. The poetry for each voice has been bound in heavy blue cardstock, while the afterword was done in burnt orange. When closed, the book has a stunning three dimensional architectural presence. It was produced at the Center for Book Arts under the supervision o … [Click Below for Full Description]

James Sacre
Octon, France: Verdigris, 2005. Condition: Fine - Signed. Number 4 of 10 de luxe copies (total edition 50), oblong octavo size, [22] pp., signed by the author and artist. James Sacre (b. 1939), former professor at Smith College, now residing in Montpellier, is a French poet, much of whose writing is concerned with literalism, which rejects the poetic convention of lyricism. He wrote this series of poems in response to fellow French artist Judith Rothchild's four mezzotints. The four images can be viewed in sequence when folded out and displayed in a semicircle, or read in page spreads, side by side with the poems - the work builds on each other as in these lines: "ç'est visible que chacun / ressemble a ceux d'a cote / par un detail de forme ou bien / l'idee qu'il donne d'un lien," the mezzotints are so rich they look like they would feel like velvet to the touch; this work is a joy to behold, on so many levels. DESCRIPTION: Original black wrappers with serigraph print by Rothchild, concertina or "leporello" style, wrappers stamped with title and two rows of squares in black, marbled black and gray pastepaper guards and endpapers, four gravure mezzotints with tissue guards, text in French; handset in Vendome Romain and printed on an Albion Press, Hahnemuhle paper, oblong octavo size (7.5" by 8.5"), [22] pp., limited edition, this number 4 of 10 de luxe copies, from a total edition of 50, signed by the author and artist. Accompaned by a signed and numbered print, number IV of X, on the right-hand side of a single leaf, on the left-hand side a handwritten and signed poem by th … [Click Below for Full Description]

Lawrence Ferlinghetti
The Arion Press, 2005. Condition: Fine - Signed. No. 121 of 300 copies, elephant folio size, [48] pp., signed by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and R. B. Kitaj. Lawrence Ferlinghetti (b. 1919) is an American poet and artist, co-founder of San Francisco's landmark progressive book store and publisher City Lights; he is associated with the Beat movement in San Francisco. "A Coney Island of the Mind", first published in 1958 by New Directions, is his most famous work. It has been translated into nine languages, and has sold over a million copies, likely a response to the refreshing good humour and anti-establishment spirit it possesses. Figurative artist R. B. Kitaj (1932-2007) prepared two charcoal drawings to accompany this edition: a portrait of the poet in profile, and a "portrayal of the poet on a plummeting roller coaster, his hair and beard flying, observed by an all-seeing eye, that is printed on the cover." The whole work is a tender tribute to the poet and his "durability", whose work continues to influence and inspire readers all over the world. DESCRIPTION: Quarter grey cloth with cream paper boards illustrated by R. B. Kitaj, with title in black on the rear board, cream paper spine label with black lettering, cream endpapers, frontispiece a portrait of the author by Kitaj, Goudy Light and Goudy Heavy types, mouldmade Hahnemühle Bugra paper, elephant folio size (16" by 10"), [48] pp., one of 300 copies, this number 121, signed by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and R.
