        Bricklin II concept car design

1975 - Mixed media on paper. Signed, dated and numbered "#03" A concept drawing by one of the great automotive designers Alexander Sarantos Tremulis (1914-1991) was the designer of the production version of the 1948 Tucker Torpedo and was America's most original design theorist of the post-war era. He was born in Chicago and without any training in drawing or engineering joined the design team of Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg in 1933. He was chief stylist when the company failed in 1937. He worked for GM, Chrysler and Custom Motors in Beverly Hills, which designed unique cars for movie stars. During World War II, he worked for the Air Force designing aircraft, and in the process drew what may have been the first visualizations of extra-terrestrial transport: flying saucers. After the war, Tremulis worked with Preston Tucker and later Ford. He formed his own consulting firm in the 1960's. This quite beautiful design and other similar ones were made for the ill-fated Bricklin car company, which existed from 1974 to 1976, whose demise had nothing to do with Tremulis's designs. He was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 1982. [Attributes: Signed Copy]

        Humboldt's Gift.

Viking Press, New York 1975 - First edition. Octavo, orginal half cloth. Fine in a near fine dust jacket with just a touch of wear. Inscribed by the author, "To Karyl, with love I could never have done it without your patient help Saul." The recipient, Karyl Kylie typed the manuscript of this Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Humboldt's Gift is a self-described "comic book about death," whose title character is modeled on the lyric poet Delmore Schwartz. Charlie Citrine, an intellectual, middle-aged author of award-winning biographies and plays, contemplates two significant figures and philosophies in his life: Von Humboldt Fleisher, a dead poet who had been his mentor, and Rinaldo Cantabile, a very-much-alive minor mafioso who has been the bane of Humboldt's existence. Humboldt had taught Charlie that art is powerful and that one should be true to one's creative spirit. Rinaldo, Charlie's self-appointed financial adviser, has always urged Charlie to use his art to turn a profit. At the novel's end, Charlie has managed to set his own course.         Dandelion Wine (Signed, Dated, Inscribed w/ Original Drawing)

Alfred A. Knopf, New York 1975 - First Thus. Warmly signed, dated and inscribed by the author directly to the first endpage, with a rare original drawing of a dandelion. The book itself is fine, but for the slightest bit of pushing/toning at the spine ends. The dust jacket -- which is now protected by a removable Brodart archival cover -- is also fine, but for a small edge tear to the rear panel, professionally repaired. The book comes from the esteemed modern first collection of Joy Kritzer. A beautiful collectible copy of a scarcely signed Bradbury work, let alone with a hand-drawing. I ship all of my books bubble-wrapped in sturdy, very well-padded boxes, so they are guaranteed to arrive in the exact same condition as when they left.         Photographie originale signée] Quai de Javel, 1932. [Dédicace autographe de Cartier-Bresson à Paola et Jean-Michel Folon]

1975 - 30,5 x 40,5 cm (feuille), 24,5 x 36 cm (image). [Attributes: Signed Copy]

5 (3 eigenh. und 2 ms.) Briefe mit U. und 1 eh. Bildpostkarte mit U.

Meist Santa Barbara bzw. [.]" (17. IV. 1975). - Die Briefe auf Briefpapier mit gedr. Briefkopf.

The Seen (First Edition, inscribed to Robert Creeley in the year of publication, with original mailing envelope)

Pasteurize Press / Zephyrus Image, San Francisco 1975 - First Edition. An offprint of Brakhage's remarks following a screening of his film, "The Text of Light," at the San Francisco Art Institute, Nov 18, 1974. This copy inscribed to Brakhage's friend, poet Robert Creeley and Creeley's wife on the verso of the title page: "For Bob and Bobby / Best memories ever / Blessings, Stan." With the original mailing envelope, postmarked October 24, 1975, hand-addressed by Brakhage. Brakhage has also tipped on a small image of a projector at the rear of the envelope.Johnston's entry for this title notes "After the film screened at Canyon Cinematheque in 1975, Holbrook Teter of Zephyrus Image decided to publish a transcript of Brakhage's accompanying talk. Teter said: 'Stan Brakhage showed a movie of light refracted in a glass ashtray. You couldn't tell it was an ashtray. The whole movie was just the shifting light in the ashtray for a very lengthy time. After he showed the movie he talked about his own life and development as an artist and what he had to say was so turned on, so accurate and beautiful. Somebody had taped it so we transcribed it and put out the book.'" "Teter originally proposed the title "Seeing is Believing" which Brakhage rejected as having religious connotations and 'then anyway my concern is to pry words such as 'seeing' FREE from those traditional associations of it which would limit a person.'"Upon reviewing the tape to proof-read his first galley, Teter found that the Cinematheque transcriber had edited rather wildly, leaving out chunks and had even interpolated parts from another Brakhage speech at the University of California Berkeley's Pacific Film Archive. Teter re-transcribed the speech, and "The Seen" first appeared in print in late 1975." Brakhage was thrilled, and wrote in a letter to Teter, "Bless you for this beauty," and said that of all the books that had been inspired from his films, that Teter's was "easily the most beautiful of all." The Criterion Collection released a collection of 26 key works by Brakhage, titled "By Brakhage," in 2003, allowing frame-by-frame digital examination of his work for the first time. In 2010, Criterion released a second volume, curated by his wife, with an additional 30 films.Fine in saddle-stitched, reflective wrappers with a clear thin mylar wrapper bound just inside the printed wrapper, as called for in the Zephyrus Image bibliography by Alastair Johnston.
