Tengo. Original Cuban Edition with booklet and three (3) records in original slipcase.

La Habana, Empressa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales, 1973.. 4°. Booklet with unnumbered 48 pages containing Poems and illustrations of the Revolution. Original, illustrated Hardcover Box. Original edition with only few signs of use. Original slipcase - slightly rubbed. Inscribed by Nicols Guillen on frontcover. Absolutely Scarce !. (Wikipedia) Nicolas Cristobal Guillen Batista (10 July 1902 - 16 July 1989) was an Afro-Cuban journalist, political activist, and writer. He is best remembered as the national poet of Cuba. Guillen was born in Camagüey, Cuba. He studied law at the University of Havana, but he soon abandoned a legal career and worked as a typographer and journalist. His poetry was published in various magazines from the early 1920s and his first collection, Motivos de son, appeared in 1930. West Indies, Ltd., published in 1934, was Guillen's first collection of poetry with political implications.[2] Cuba's dictatorial Machado regime had been overthrown in 1933, but political repression in the following years intensified. In 1936, with other editors of Mediodia, Guillen was arrested on trumped-up charges, and spent some time in jail. In 1937 he joined the Communist Party[2] and made his first trip abroad - to attend a Congress of Writers and Artists in Spain. During his travels in the country he covered Spain's Civil War as a magazine reporter. Guillen returned to Cuba via Guadeloupe. He stood as a Communist in the local elections of 1940. The following year he was refused a visa to enter the United States, but he travelled widely over the next twenty years - in South America, China and Europe. Guillen's poetry was increasingly becoming imbued with issues of cross-cultural Marxist dialectic.[3] He was prevented by the Batista government from entering Cuba in 1953[1], but was welcomed back by Fidel Castro after the revolution, becoming appointed president of the Union Nacional de Escritores de Cuba - the National Cuban Writers' Union - in 1961.[4] He also wrote some evocative and poignant poetry highlighting social conditions, such as "Problemas de Subdesarrollo" and "Dos Ninos". He was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize in 1954. Guillen is probably the best-known representative of the "poesia negra" ("black poetry") that tried to create a synthesis between black and white cultural elements, a "poetic mestizaje". Characteristic for his poems is the use of onomatopoetic words ("Songoro Cosongo", "Mayombe-bombe") that try to imitate the sound of drums or the rhythm of the son. Silvestre Revueltas's symphonic composition Sensemaya was based on Guillen's poem of the same name, and became that composer's best known work. Nicolas Guillen died in 1989 at age 87 and was buried in the Colon Cemetery, Havana. His nephew was experimental Cuban filmmaker Nicolas Guillen Landrian (1938-2003). (Wikipedia) Nicolas Guillen (* 10. Juli 1902 in Camagüey in Kuba; 16. THE PRINCESS BRIDE (1st printing)

Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York 1973 - Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1973. NY. 308 Pages. VG+/VG+. 1st edition, 1st printing. Copyright page states First Edition with BCDE. The original DJ has the $7.95 price clipped from DJ flap. The book is square, tight and unread. Corners are sharp. Panels are bright gray and clean. The only flaw keeping this book from grading fine is foxing to page edges. Some of the spots show on the rear DJ flap edge (barely). The DJ is most attractive. DJ is bright. Only minimal rubbing to edges keeping this DJ from grading near fine. Backstrip shows the tiniest roll at DJ edge that looks like a tiny chip but it is not, rather the paper is just slightly rolled and could be re-flattened if so desired. Faint crease to lower left front of the DJ. Condition flaws are hyper-critical and overstated. A paper conservator could likely neutralize the foxing on the page edges and by ridding these, you would have a fine book in a VG+ DJ. A most desirable copy of the classic.
