        Sula

NY: Afred A Knopf, 1973. A remarkable copy of the scarce 1st Edition of Toni Morrison's second book. Winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature & the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, this Toni Morrison novel is one of the most sought after titles published in the last 50 years. This copy is clean & bright & tight. The orange cloth & gilt stamping are quite brilliant. There is a barely noticeable bump to the lower rear fore corner. The dust jacket is also very clean & bright-- there is none of the usual fading to the spine or the front panel. There are two tiny tears-- one (less than 1/4 inch) tear to the lower front panel & one (less than 1/8 inch) tear to the rear flap. The original price is present on the front flap. Overall, a really sharp copy of this hard to find book.. First Edition. Full Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo.

The Princess Bride S. Morgernstern's Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure

Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York 1973 - An absolutely fabulous copy of Goldman's brilliant Princess Bride. Not only has Goldman written one excellent book after another, but he has some great screenplays in his resume, too, such as, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid and All The President's Men. The Princess Bride was turned into a film that is adored by young and old alike. Book is in VG condition and is the best copy I have ever seen. Spine is straight, no bumps to corners and the lightest of rolling to the head and heel of spine. No Dog ears or tears. Only markings to text block are "1st" and "1000" penciled to the top of the half-title page. First Edition, First Printing as denoted by the prescence of only BCDE on the print line. Harcourt. 1973. DJ is in VG condition and mylar-protected, and the color is extremely bright with no fading. The only slight flaws present are a small closed puncture to the front of the DJ near the spine about 2 " from the top and a chip to the bottom corner, both are visible in the photo. There are also a couple of miniscule chips at the head of the spine. $7.95 issue price is present. This is a spectacular copy of a scarce book. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]

        Gravity's Rainbow

Viking 1973 - This classic and rare work by Thomas Pynchon is much sought by collectors. It had a very limited initial run of 4,000 copies and is a complex and sweeping tale set in immediate post WWII. Book is in VG condition. Spine is straight with light separation at the head of the text block. Slight bump to top of rear corner and a pinhead sized spot of rubbing to the bottom front corner. Text block is soiled and toned with age with a concentration of soiling at bottom of text block where pages were likely turned. "GCB", "800" and a symbol have been penciled into the top of the FEP. No dog ears or torn pages. First Edition, First Printing. Viking Press. 1973. DJ is in VG condition and is mylar-protected.         TAKESHI SHIOTA: FUKAKI FUCHI YORI (FROM THE DEEP SLOW CURRENT) - MINAMATA 68-72

(SHIOTA, TAKESHI). Shiota, Takeshi. TAKESHI SHIOTA: FUKAKI FUCHI YORI (FROM THE DEEP SLOW CURRENT) - MINAMATA 68-72. Tokyo: Nishi Nippon Shimbun-sha, 1973. First Edition. 8vo. Pictorial Self Wrappers. Photography Monograph. Good +. 168pp, profusely illustrated in b&w. Text in Japanese. In a protective clear acetate dustwrapper. Published in 1973, Takeshi Shiota's "Fukaki Fuchi Yori" traces the devastating effects of the decades-long Mercury poisoning of Minamata Bay perpetuated by the Chisso Corporation's electrochemical plant in Kyushu. The photographer provides a stark visual record of the resulting legacy of illness, birth defects, and death in the surrounding community that ultimately became known as "Minamata Disease". The book is the moving Japanese photojournalistic counterpoint to "Minamata: Words and Photographs" - W. Eugene Smith and Aileen Smith's documentation of the same environmental tragedy published two years later. A most presentable example of this exceedingly uncommon item in the publisher's printed obi showing some overall wear, rubbing, and handling along with some mottling and occasional delamination to its black wrappers as well as a slight soft crease through a portion of the textblock at the upper foredge corner. It has been priced accordingly. PLEASE NOTE: Additional shipping costs are required for this item beyond our standard rates due to its value - we will inform you of the applicable amount at time of purchase. 0036-300505-616 Inventory Number: 024377

Brief mit eh. U. und Gedichttyposkript mit eh.

Korrekturen. 4°. 1/2 und 2/3 S. Dat. 8. Okt. 1973.. .
