CALDER, ALEXANDER; ANUSKIEWICZ, RICHARD; DECHAR, PETER; JENKINS, PAUL; PARKER, RAY; RAUSCHENBERG, ROBERT
New York: Art in America, 1970. SIGNED LIMITED DELUXE EDITION. SIGNED LIMITED DELUXE EDITION, NUMBER 36 OF ONLY 100 COPIES, COMPLETE WITH SIX LARGE (62 x 40 cm) PLATES, EACH SIGNED BY THE ARTIST. The production was undertaken with the greatest care and concern, with artists often employing experimental techniques to achieve the highest quality lithograph. "Each artist has taken the graphic route that served him best; Calder and Jenkins, the traditional hand-pull method; Anuskiewicz and Parker, the newly used direct offset process, Rauschenberg, the progressive, photo-collage offset sequence; and Dechar, an ultra-fine-screened version of a self-made photographic image printed by offset." "All six prints reflect the skill and care of the master printers at the house of Chiron, Moulrot, Hollanders Workshop, Tritor Press, and Peterson Color Laboratory, Inc., all of whom collaborated closely with the artists in makings these works--a union of effort as time honored and necessary as that which has flourished in print ateliers for over five centuries" (Donald H. Karshan, from the Introduction). New York: Art in America, 1970. Six large prints (62 x 40 cm) and introductory text loose as issued and housed in black portfolio. Fine condition. RARE. Very Good.
