Harrison, George (subject); Gok in Sipahio lu (photographer)
Vintage borderless black-and-white press photograph of George Harrison at press conference for the release of his legendary 1970 album, "All Things Must Pass." Shot by noted Turkish photographer Gok in Sipahio lu, with his Parisian press stamp on the verso. Without question, 1970 was Harrison's shining hour as a solo artist. Less than a year later, he would trim his hair from the length show here (and on the album's cover) to a more reasonable look and helm the Concert for Bangladesh in New York City, featuring Eric Clapton, Badfinger, and other musicians who populated his 1970 album. This photograph was taken by Sipahio lu when he was still working as an independent frontline photojournalist, routinely contributing to Black Star and Gamma. In 1973 he would found the Sipa Press, an agency that would represent the world's best photographers for the next 30 years. 7.75 x 12 inches (19.5 x 30.5 cm). Very Good plus, with some light creasing at the corners.

[Prisunic/Catalogue] AGENCE MAFIA POUR PRISUNIC
Agence Mafia. Imprimé en sérigraphie "atelier 87". ca.1970. Couverture souple illustrée, en feuillets libre. 12 pages. Dim: 52 x 39 cm.

ZAMYATIN, Yevgeny (1884-1937).
London: Jonathan Cape, 1970. [Dystopian Fiction] FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.285; [3], blank. Publisher's grey cloth blocked in gilt, top edge is jet black, purple jacket designed by Stanley Chapman. A truly fine copy. Oustanding. Russian novelist Yevgeny Zamyatin's masterpiece; "a remarkable Utopian fantasy, a landmark in world literature, the precursor of and almost certainly the model for Brave New World and 1984... We is an icily etched portrait of a dehumanized society of the future with its ubiquitous timetables, days set aside for sexual activities, glass-box living accommodation and ever-alert watch-dog police, presided over by 'The Benefactor'" (from the blurb). The novel was banned by the new Soviet censorship bureau in 1921 and was first published, in English, in New York in 1924. A Czech language edition followed, where it was condemned by a state-sponsored literary group. Zamyatin was seen as a dissident, his subsequent literary output suppressed, and exiled from his home country. This first British edition was translated from the Russian in 1970 and the first Soviet publication did not appear until 1988.

White matt wrappers with title printed in black on cover and spine.Photographs by Ed Ruscha. Unpaginated (48 pp.), with 25 black and white plates of LA locations including captions. 7 x 5-1/2 inches. This first and only edition was limited to 4000 copies. In 1963, Ed Ruscha began working with the published image, in his most renowned series of artist's books. These books were not only about editions, but the replication of reproductions. Each book was made up of a series of photographs, the books aptly named for their visual content. The industrial feel of offset lithography that Ruscha was exposed to in a short apprenticeship with Saul Marks at Plantain Press showed in his artist's books, and soon he begun to receive recognition for this unique body of work. Ruscha is now regarded as one of the founders of the Pop Art movement. This is a real collector's item.Condition: Fine to Good. (slight yellowing). [Attributes: First Edition]

Regardie, Israel. [Aleister Crowley]
Llewellyn Publications, Saint Paul, Minnesota. Saint Paul, Minnesota: Llewellyn Publications, 1970. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Presentation Copy. 8vo., A near fine copy in the publisher's black cloth, gilt - in a lightly used dustwrapper. Regardie has warmly inscribed this book to Ursula Greville: "For Ursula / who did some editing on this magnum opus / Love, Francis." {Regardie dedicated AHA! to Ursula Greville a 'loving, generous, devoted friend of many years who, like Aleister Crowley changed the entire course of my life.'} This is a stated First Edition / First Printing. There is some light wear to the board's extremities & to the crown and foot of the book's spine. There are three small page notations on the final free endpaper. The dustwrapper is not price clipped; with the original publisher's price of $10.00 still intact on the front flap. There is a 1" x 2" chip missing from the top right corner of the front panel and a 2" closed tear in the same area. There are several small chips missing from the crown of the DJ's spine. "Aleister Crowley has for years been reviled by the public media as 'The Most Evil Man in the World.' And he has for years been hailed by a small handful of scholars as the greatest of modern mystics, the 'Prophet of a New Aeon.' Now, The Eye in the Triangle appears to clear up some aspects of the dual mystery. In this book Israel Regardie examines the life and work of Aleister Crowley from a sympathetically objective point of view. Many of Crowley's loveliest and holiest works are quoted from sources long out of print. The Eye in the Triangle is es … [Click Below for Full Description]

This is the true first UK edition of this scarce book published in 1970 by Sidgwick & Jackson, but it is missing the dust jacket. It includes a facsimile dust jacket protected in mylar. The book itself is in beautiful near fine condition. There is a slight, minor bump at top edge of front cover about two inches from left edge as shown in photo. Inside front cover at bottom left corner is a partially removed sticker and on lower left of blank page inside back cover a few numbers are written in pencil. There is slight edge toning as expected from a book of this age. There is a little wrinkle at top of spine as shown in photo. I do offer combined shipping. If you buy more than one item, either wait and I will send you a combined invoice to save on shipping, or if you have paid excess shipping I will refund the additional shipping. Thanks.

Philip K. Dick
Condition: Very Good. AUTHOR : PHILIP K. DICK TITLE : THE PRESERVING MACHINE Publisher : Ace, New York, 1970 This is the first hardcover edition of this collection of stories by Philip K. Dick, which was originally published in the U. S. in 1969 as a paperback original. This copy is from the library of David Hartwell, a friend and editor of the author, and has been SIGNED BY PHILIP K. DICK on the front free endpaper. A note about forged signatures: Although some forgeries are expert and difficult to distinguish from the real thing, most are not. I suggest zooming in on signatures to evaluate the stroke of the pen. If the lines of the lettering look ragged rather than smooth and/or the thickness/darkness of the line varies suddenly rather than not at all or gradually, then be suspicious; these are signs that the person writing was tentative, which is not usually the case when one writes one's own name. Fine unread hardcover book in very good dust jacket. The dust jacket is protected in a Mylar cover. Light pencil notations on the front free endpaper provide provenance information by the professional bookseller from whom I purchased the book, which is why I have left them in place - but they can be easily erased (but I would not do so). If you have any question, please do not hesitate to ask. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
