THE DOORS". An Authentic, First Presentation, First-State RIAA White Matte – Gold Record Award.

New York: Elektra Records 1967 - The original RIAA White Matte Gold Record Award, presented to The Doors in recognition of their debut album reaching $1,000,000.00 in retail sales. This is the exact award that hung in The Doors’ Hollywood offices at 8512 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles. Mounted on hand cut Bainbridge white matte and in the orginal Fulton Street New York Frame & Picture Co. wooden frame as issued. The glass is original and has been professionally cleaned to the underside resulting in replacement brown paper to the rear of the frame. The condition is very good indeed, there is a little tarnishing to the gilt on the record at the extremities, and the frame is a little scratched and bumped as you might expect. Released in January 1967, The Doors debut album was certified gold by the RIAA on September 11, 1967. An exceptional rock and roll artifact. The Doors’ first gold record, for their first album, from the personal collection of their longtime manager. Provenance: From the personal collection of long time Doors manager Bill Siddons. With his signed statement "I, Bill Siddons, was the manager of the Doors from January 1968 though October 1972. The gold record award for "The Doors", was owned by me and hung at the Doors’ office at 8512 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, 90069, for the duration of our leasing that space."Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.         Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.

London: Faber and Faber, 1967 - Octavo. Original blue cloth, titles to spine gilt. With the dust jacket. Mild browning to the endpapers, spine gently rolled but an excellent copy in the minimally faded dust jacket. Exceptionally scarce in this format and condition. First edition, first impression, case-bound issue. This hardback issue of the first edition of Stoppard's landmark first play was produced alongside the far more common paperback issue primarily to satisfy the institutional market. The classic Wolpe jacket in pale pink and blue is notoriously susceptible to fading. As a consequence copies in this condition are deeply uncommon.

Jim Moseley's Book of Saucer News / signed Copy

Clarksburg, WV: Saucerian Books, 1967. Clarksburg, WV: Saucerian Books, 1967 Clarksburg, WV: Saucerian Publications, 1967. First edition. Signed and dated 11/15/73 by Moseley on the ffep, with "Best Wishes", but no recipient's name. Cover design by Gene Duplantier. "Fronticepiece" (sic) of Moseley. Wrappers, quarto, 118 pp. Corners just touched, minor age-toning to the pages, otherwise in great shape for a softcover, Near Fine. Clearly, never read. Really quite a sharp copy, clean, bright. An inexpensive, typed book, but something of a landmark as a collection of contributed articles, by-lined and news-clipped, to Moseley's Saucerian publication. In addition to Moseley himself (several items), contributors include notable on-topic names such as M.K. Jessup [The Antiquity of Civilized Man], Ivan Sanderson [A Reporter's Report], Frank Scully [Scully Breaks A Long Silence], Gray Barker (Why the Bender Book Has Been Delayed {in reference to Albert K. Bender's 'Flying Saucers and the Three Men', about which this book contains another article, below}), and a great deal of others. 46 items in all (in addition to Moseley's intro) include article titles such as "Message From Mars Sent to Earth 50 Years Ago ?" (news item); "The Legends of Mt. Shasta" (Richard Cohen); "Three Men In Black - The Al Bender Story" (Moseley, long before the movie); Humanoids and the Mars Saucer Cycle (Lonzo Dove); and, really, that's barely the start of it. A very collectible signed copy of a classic of the genre. L-g2

The first of three volumes. A catalogue raisonne of cylinders seals, with 95 pages of black & white photographic plates. These cylinder seals were an ancient tool used to create intaglio prints, and were originally invented circa 3500 BC, and are known to be linked to the invention of cuneiform writing on clay tablets in Mesopotamia.
