        How 007 Got His Name

Collins, London 1966 - HARDBACK - A near fine book with clean green boards. Internally, the pages are clean, with no previous owner names or inscription inset. The book has been walmly inscribed by the author to a Gracie, to the front end paper. The Gracie in question is the authors cousin. The dust wrapper is a very good example which has been neatly price clipped. There is nibbling to the spine tips, and to the extremities, but is clean in appearence. [Attributes: First Edition]

Complet. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]

Mrs. Sarogi House, New Delhi. Progettisti Architetti: Roberto Magris (capogruppo), Piero Frassinelli, Alessandro Magris, Adolfo Natalini, Cristiano Toraldo di Francia. Collaboratore: arch. Manlio Brunetti.

      - Firenze, s.d.

        This America

1966. First Edition . Signed. JOHNSON, Lyndon Baines. This America. Photographed by Ken Heyman. New York: Random House, (1966). Quarto, original blue cloth, original dust jacket. $2500.First edition of Ken Heyman's challenging and inspiring photographic meditation on President Johnson's vision of America as the Great Society, signed by the president and inscribed by the First Lady to Cartha Dekle ""Deke"" DeLoach, deputy director of the FBI, ""To Deke de Loach — with our appreciation and warm best wishes — Lady Bird Johnson, Christmas 1966.""""One of the top photojournalists in the United States"" (McDarrah & McDarrah, 226), Heyman is perhaps best known for his signature ""'hipshooting' style that magnified the happenstance beyond the photographic eye's scope"" (Chapnick, 231). In this work, however, Heyman showcases the range of his expertise by composing images that vary in subject matter from the mundane—a family saying bedtime prayers, a professor lecturing his college class, a young boy fishing in a lake—to the majestic—California's towering redwoods, the span of the Golden Gate Bridge, the monuments of Washington, D.C.—in order to illustrate President Johnson's speeches, here presented with typographic dignity befitting a formal creed, about America's potential to become ""the Great Society."" ""The book, published by Random House, was the editorial creation of Jerry Mason, editor of the award-winning Family of Man. Mason chose excerpts from the President's words… 'to serve as a shooting script' for the photographer… who spent nearly six months traveling throughout the United States in search of suitable pictures"" (The American Presidency Project). Issued the same year in wrappers, presumably simultaneously. Inscribed to Cartha Dekle ""Deke"" DeLoach, ""top aide and confidant to J. Edgar Hoover… and a powerful intermediary between Hoover and President Lyndon B. Johnson during an especially tense political era"" (New York Times). In his over a quarter century at the FBI, DeLoach rose to the rank of deputy associate director, the agency's third most senior official.Book about-fine, price-clipped dust jacket very good with mild edge-wear and modest closed tears to front panel. A desirable inscribed presentation/association copy.
