MCPHEE, John
Farrar, Straus and Giroux, New York 1965 - First edition. Hardcover. The first book from this brilliant writer whose books on a wide range of subjects have garnered him a wide audience as well as critical acclaim in the form of a Pulitzer and several National Book award nominations. This book profiled Bradley while he was still a collegiate basketball star and Rhodes Scholar but it hinted at the future greatness that he would accomplish in leading two Knick teams to championships and becoming a U.S senator for New Jersey. A fine and tight copy in a bright about near fine dust jacket with some minor edge wear and small tears but none of the usual fading to the spine. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]

The result is a series of colorful and exciting incidents that make for a true Tiger Mann special, bound to please his many fans and all who want a story of international intrigue told at a machine-gun pace. The U.S. is courting the visiting ruler because an oil reserve has been discovered in his country -- and the U.S. has a special process for extracting the oil. The Communists want the king, too, but they prefer him dead -- with blame for the death placed on our government. So … [Click Below for Full Description]

1965. FLINTSTONES [HANNA-BARBERA]. FLINTSTONES ORIGINAL ART: FRED AND BARNEY. Offered here is a fabulous watercolor circa 1965 used for a Spanish Language book about the Flintstones. Although there is no indication that this is from a Spanish book, it was purchased with other art from a Spanish edition. In Spanish, the Flintsones are known as "Los Picapiedras". When the Flintstones premiered in 1960, it became the first prime time cartoon series made specifically for TV and it is still popular today. It was also very successful in Spanish speaking countries (especially Mexico and Venzuela). The colors in this artwork are vibrant and the image makes you smile. The image measures 9 3/4 x 12" done on art board 13 x 16. Sl. finger soil on edges, near fine. This is a great image of Fred and Barney dancing in front of their house with Dino scowling in the background.
