Sayer Esq; for Bernard Lintott and Thomas Ward, 1713. 8vo., vii + (1) + 488 + (24)pp., contemporary rather worn calf, neatly rebacked and labelled. A very good copy. First edition. Fussell (The Old English Farming Books 1523-1730>) notes the relevance to rural affairs of this book, although to suggest that it 'must have been a useful handbook for the country gentleman as well as his steward in regulating the proceedings of the manorial court' seems to undervalue what was a serious, lengthy and authoritative legal reference work. It was reprinted, and re-edited, in numerous editions up to at least 1819, by which date most of the residual powers of the Courts Leet, Courts Baron and Courts of Survey had been subsumed elsewhere.

the Right Honble Anne Countess of Winchilsea
London - J[ohn] B[arber]., 1713 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First edition.. A collection of Anne Finch's poetry. The first edition, probably second printing as with variant title page stating the author as 'Right Honble Anne, Countess of Winchilsea' rather than 'A Lady' as it is to the first printing. `With errata to the end of the contents and publisher's catalogue to rear, as called for. Finch's works expresses a desire for respect as a female poet, lamenting her difficult position as a woman in the literary establishment and court. She also tended to allude to other female authors of the time such as Aphra Behn and Katherine Phillips. With the bookplate of Sir Robert Gilmour, 1st Baronet of Liberton and Craigmillar, Midlothian. Gilmour was a British army officer and Captain of the Royal Company of Archers. From the antiquarian library of Christopher Rowe. Christopher Rowe was a schoolmaster in Norwich and then in Bristol. Throughout his career he inspired many to love literature, history and music. He was a specialist on 17th century printer and bookseller, Humphrey Moseley and began his, unfortunately unfinished, PhD dissertation on him. Condition: In a full calf binding.

Written by a Person who had been a Slave there a Considerable Time; and published from his Authentick Manuscript. To which are added, two Letters: one from the Present King of Morocco to Colonel Kirk; the other to Sir Cloudesly Shovell: with Sir Cloudesly's Answer, etc. Octavo (175 × 108 mm). Tönningen.]
Utan ort, 1713. 4:o. (2),+ 12 s.+ grav. plansch,+ utvikbar grav. karta. "kapitulationen i Tönningen".
