Es handelt sich um eine seltene Ausgabe und kommt aus dem Nachlass. Abmessungen: 44cm lang, 31cm breit und 12,5cm hoch. Die Bibel hat über 2000 Blätter und über 100 verschiedene, teils sehr interessante Abbildungen. Die zwei erste und zwei letzte Blätter/4-Seiten sind in deutlich schlechterem Zustand wie alle andere Blätter um Buch, viele Blätter auch Leder außen haben einige kleine Holzwurmlöcher. Einige Seiten haben Flecken, siehe Bilder. Aussen ist die Bibel mit Leder bezogen und hat 2 Kupferschnallen. Leder ist an einer Stelle abgerissen, siehe Bilder. Die Blätter am Rand sind rundum goldig lackiert und wenn das Buch geschlossen schimmert der ganzer 12cm Rand bei Licht/Sonne mit schöner goldener Farbe, siehe Bilder. Die Bibel ist alt, gebraucht und hat selbsverständlich viele, teils kräftige Gebrauchsspuren, siehe Bilder. Für den Alter ist die aber gut erhalten. Um, 1700. Unter Passepartout 38 x 49 cm. Im rechten unteren Eck ein ca. 7 x 2,5 cm großer, fachmännisch reparierter Papierabriss, der auch einen kleinen Teil der Legende betrifft. Ausgesprochen seltenes Blatt eines für uns nicht bestimmbaren Holzschneiders, der sich stark am Merian-Stich orientiert. Zur zeitlichen Einordnung kann die barockisierte Vierungskuppel herangezogen werden, der um 1700 das Turmkreuz aufgesetzt worden ist.

L'abécédaire, composé de grandes lettrines ornées et mises en couleurs, n'est pas complet : il comporte 23 feuillets de lettres simples (il manque les lettres J, R, et U), et 11 feuillets de lettres doubles. Les feuillets sont calligraphiés sur le recto seul ; certains d'entre-eux présentent les traces d'une restauration assez grossière. Les textes, évocations de passages de la Bible ou sentences morales, sont rédigés à l'encre brune. Le premier feuillet, faisant office de couverture, présente des traces d'usage plus marquées que sur les pages intérieures, traces d'usage par ailleurs : on voit que l'abécédaire a été lu et relu. On croit y lire "Von Mutter 1721", ce qui est parfaitement plausible, mais le texte est partiellement effacé. Rare et émouvant document. En l'état.

Hardcover, full leather, 220 x 154 mm, 241 leaves (plus doublures), evidently complete, in single column of up to 40 lines in a single scrawling italic hand, titles and some opening words in larger version of same, numerous calligraphic pen swirls, stunning original binding of brown leather over thick pasteboards bound with 5 thongs at spine, gilt-tooled with arms of kings of France (in form of 1578-1790) below a crown and within the collars of the Orders of St. Michel and 'du roi' as central cabouchons, each board also with gilt floral border with large fleur-de-lys set at corner, spine gilt-tooled with fleur-de-lys and foliage in compartments, title "RHETO/RICA", finely marbled doublures, gilt edges decorated with green marbling.
