Nicolas De FER
Parigi, 1694. [Click Below for Full Description]

First edition. 12:o. 15,5x10 cm. 153, (3 blanks) pp. 18th century half leather with gilt decorations on spine, with spine label in red leather and marbled boards. The spine and corners are worn, and there are two small holes in the leather in the top compartment, foot of spine has a small loss, as has the spine label. A small dampstain on the top edge is visible in top margin of pp. 55-128. A small speck on the title leaf. A short tear in lower margin of pp. 21/22. A small chip in outer margin of pp. 123/124. A few insignificant scattered specks, but generally a clean copy. Jean Balthazar de Simmeren (c:a 1600 -- c:a 1688), born in Simmeren in Pfalz, a prominent mercenary captain (after 1653 lieutenant general) who served partly the French royal forces, partly the Prince of Condé during the Fronde and the Franco-Spanish War. This is his record of the campaigns during the last years of the Fronde. A scarce item.

Lagerloof, Petrus
Fahlunensis: n.p., 1694. 12mo. 128pp. Contemporary blue paper wraps. Textblock and wraps soiled and stained with some neat repairs. This is the morning (first) dissertation, listing Olaus Troilus Zachrisson in the description and setting the date for 12 December, 1694 "ante meridiem". There was a second printing for the afternoon session listing Daniel Lind Danielsson on the title and with the time specified as post meridiem. The afternoon version is scarce enough with OCLC locating only 5 copies; the morning version is downright rare with the OCLC listing (under the title Dissertatio De Lingvuae...) locating no copies worldwide. Lagerloof went on to become a noted language authority in the orthography of Swedish. In Latin. Good.
