1650. Acquaforte, metà del XVII secolo. Esemplare nel secondo stato di due, con la dedica all'arcivescovo Paleotti. Bellissima prova, impressa su carta vergata coeva con filigrana del "sole", con sottili margini, in perfetto stato di conservazione. Il Sirani, introdotto all'arte alla scuola del Possenti e del Cavedone, divenne successivamente il principale allievo di Guido Reni, con il quale collaborò in diversi dipinti e ne terminò tutte le opere incompiute alla data della sua morte. La sua opera grafica non ha ancora avuto una completa catalogazione e comprende circa una decina di lavori, con principale soggetto religioso. 1650. Acquaforte, circa 1650, priva di firma. Esemplare del rarissimo primo stato di due, avanti la firma. Magnifica prova, impressa su carta vergata coeva priva di filigrana, rifilata al rame, in perfetto stato di conservazione. Riquadro ad inchiostro lungo la parte esterna. Allievo di Carlo Sacchi, il Maratti divenne ben presto figura di riferimento dell'arte romana del periodo Barocco, con particolare riferimento alla pittura sacra. Le sue 14 incisioni sono relative al periodo giovanile della carriera, intorno al 1650 e sicuramente prima del 1660, periodo nel quale era nello studio del Sacchi. Le tirature di primo stato, sono probabilmente prove di stampa e pertanto sono da considerarsi rarissime. Bibliografia: Bartsch vol. 21, 4. Dimensioni 143x214. Etching, 1650 circa, without signature. Example in the very rare first state of two, before the signature was added. Magnificent work, printed on contemporary laid paper without watermark, trimmer to platemark in excellent condition. Maratti was pupil of Carlo Sacchi; he very soon became a milestone for the Roman art in the Baroque period, with a particular reference to sacred painting. His 14 engravings refer to the first period of his career, around 1650 and for sure before 1660, when he worked in Sacchi's workshop. Extraordinary manuscript atlas and register of land ownership for the "Gecombineerde Prins Willem Polder" (combined Prince William polder) in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen (the parts of Flanders situated in the province of Zeeland in the Dutch Republic), north and west of the town of Oostburg, in the southwest corner of the Netherlands. It documents the individual plots of land within the polder and records the owners who acquired each plot when the polder was first laid out in 1650 and 1651, and the owners in 1723. Atlases of this type were drawn up by land-owning corporations or polder authorities for the proper administration of land taxes, and provide one of the most complete and accurate records of land ownership. They generally remained in the archives of the institutions until destroyed or turned over to the governmental archives, so that they rarely come on the market. The present atlas of the Generale Prins Willempolder in Zeeland is therefore an extremely rare primary source for the social, economic and topographic history of the region, the history of the Dutch battle against the sea and the genealogy of the land owners. It was compiled by Gerrit van Gersom, then dijkgraaf (the official charged with oversite of a polder and its dikes) for the Prins Willempolder.Most of the first map is detached and several have tears, creases or tattered edges, sometimes crudely repaired, but most remain in good or very good condition. Contemporary uniform full mottled calf. Spines with six raised bands, compartments with rich gilt floral patterns and two green morocco labels with gilt titles.= A nice set in the rare first edition of Jonston's famous "Historiae naturalis" depicting all then "known" animals including insects, snakes, "dragons", shells, birds, etc. This is the Frankfurt edition, which is much rarer than the second edition that was printed in Amsterdam (1657). With the fine plates of such animals as an elephant with its driver, famous different horses, a stranded sperm whale, but also the more dramatic "draco's" depicted after "aldro" (Aldrovandus) and the Hydra with seven heads. Most plates are quite accurate and the animals depicted are easily identifiable to the species level. Some, however, are rather vague; perhaps composites or entirely mythological. The "serpentibus" is bound after the "insectibus", the "exanvibus aqvaticis" after the "piscibus" (as usual). Italian edition, first published by Blaeu in 1646. With EXCEEDINGLY RARE HAND-COLORING. Nearly identical in arrangement, decoration, and content to the Blaeu state. Though the Italian copy does not include a reference to publisher or engraver, it likely originated from the Venetian publisher Stefano Scolari, who engraved this copy of "Nova Et Accurata Totius Germaniae Tabula" to use as a model for a complete new set of copperplates. Over the course of his career, Scolari published many copy engravings of decorative wall maps of both Italian and foreign origin during the mid-seventeenth century. Ulugh Beg (1394-1449), the "Great Prince", born as Muhammad Taragay, was raised at the court of his grandfather, Tamerlane. From 1409 onwards he ruled Mawara'annahr from Samarkand, where he had a three-story observatory built. One of the oldest inhabited cities in Central Asia, Samarkand prospered from its location on the trade route between China and the Mediterranean (Silk Road). - "An important result of the scientific work of Ulugh Beg and his school was the astronomical tables called the 'Zij'" (DSB). Amsterdam vers 1650 En deux feuilles non jointes de 410 x 470 mm chacune. Très belle carte en deux feuilles non jointes figurant le cours du Rhin, "le plus célèbre des fleuve d'Europe", entre le lac de Constance et la mer du Nord, et de ses affluents la Meuse et la Moselle. Les villes principales le long du fleuve sont signalées à l'aquarelle rouge (Zürich, Strasbourg, Mayence, Cologne...). Le nord est placé à droite de la carte. Elle est ornée de 10 blasons des régions et pays traversés (Suisse, Alsace, Palatinat du Rhin, Hollande...) et d'un magnifique cartouche de titre animé de plusieurs personnages, dont Rhenus, le dieu des fleuves, et des divinités représentant la Meuse et la Moselle. Cette carte a également été reprise par Jansson et Blaeu, mais il s'agit pour notre exemplaire d'une très rare édition publiée par Cornelis Danckerts, portant la mention en haut à droite "Amstelodami sumptibus Corn Dankero". Elle diffère de la carte de Jansson par l'absence des navires, et de celle de Blaeu par l'absence du cartouche de dédicace. Bel exemplaire aux contours aquarellés à l'époque.

Bellissime prove, impresse su carta vergata coeva priva di filigrana, con sottili margini, in ottimo stato di conservazione. Le due stampe documentano la capacità del Rosa di ricreare un'atmosfera da favola ellenistica, dove le divinità mitologiche sono rappresentate in perfetto equilibrio con la natura circostante. Rotili ritiene che le opere siano databili intorno al 1651/6, sostenendo che simboleggino i fiumi dei quattro continenti, in analogia con la Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi di Piazza Navona realizzata da Gian Lorenzo Bernini, 1648/51. - Wappenhandschrift, wohl Augsburg um 1650: ca. 750 farbige Wappen. Wappenhandschrift, 4° (30x21cm), fester Kartoneinband der Zeit mit Stoffschließen und Teil eines beiliegenden Elfenbein-Verschluss(?)-Zapfens, 46 Blatt mit ca. 700-800 farbigen Wappenzeichnugen. Einband fleckig, Wurmlöcher, Rücken unten mit Läsur, Blätter fleckig und mit Wasserrand oben, Beschädigungen an 17 Blättern oben, kleine Randläsuren, Blätter vereinzelt zu knapp aneinandergebunden und so am inneren Rand nicht ganz lesbar, sonst gut. Der Band erlitt einst einen Wasserschaden, wobei die Seiten unterschiedlich stark betroffen wurden. Mit starkem Wasserrand und Beschädigungen oben: Blätter 1-8 und 20-26 und 43-46, mit schwachem Wasserrand Blätter 9-19 und 31-42. Blätter 27-30 sind erstaunlicherweise ohne Wasserrand. In dem Band wurden wohl 3 differente Handschriften oder Teile derselben eingebunden. Man kann 3 unterschiedliche Stränge ausmachen. Die Stränge ordnete man nicht stringent hintereinander sondern wechselweise ins Buch. Aufgeführt sind die Großmeister des Deutschordens, zahlreiche Geistliche (darunter eine Liste der Bischöfe von Augsburg bis ca. 1598, Besucher des Konzils von Konstanz (genannt „Consilium zu Coßnitz"), Herrscher (vom Grafen bis zum Kaiser), Adelige. 1650. Acquaforte e bulino, circa 1650. Bellissima prova, impressa su carta vergata coeva priva di filigrana, con margini, minime ossidazioni all'angolo superiore destro per il resto in ottimo stato di conservazione. L'opera raffigura l'Eremo di Camaldoli che si trova nei pressi dell'omonima località, in provincia di Arezzo. Fu fondato da San Romualdo nei primi anni dell'XI secolo ed è la casa madre della Congregazione benedettina dei camaldolesi. L'opera non risulta nei repertori da noi consultati. Stilisticamente sembrerebbe relativa alla metà del XVII secolo, tuttavia una data abrasa ma ancora leggibile "1664" appare in basso a sinistra. Nel 1663 Johannes Blaeu realizza una veduta che include nel suo Theatrum Italiae , con degli spazi bianchi al posto dei cartigli decorativi agli angoli inferiori, che sembra chiaramente derivare da questa opera. Probabile quindi che la lastra sia databile alla metà del'600 e che abbia avuto più tirature. Molto rara. Dimensioni 510x375. Etching and engraving, circa 1650. Bellissima prova, impressa su carta vergata coeva, con sottili margini su tre lati e rifilata al rame in basso, leggere abrasioni nella parte destra, per il resto in ottimo stato di conservazione. É molto probabile che questa stampa appartenga ad una tiratura successiva alla prima (ho ipotizzato un secondo stato su due) dato che, oltre al primo indirizzo ed alla nota del privilegio apposti accanto al nome dell'incisore, si trova un secondo indirizzo, quello del Daman, che fu uno stampatore italiano attivo forse a Bologna intorno al 1650 che stampò tirature di lastre di vari incisori successive alla prima, fra cui lo stesso Nicolas Cochin. 1650. La veduta panoramica di Roma raffigurante Campo Vaccino venne realizzata dal Silvestre intorno ala 1652. Il panorama spazia dal Capidoglio alla Basilica di Massenzio ed è contraddistinta dall'estrema precisione nella rappresentazione degli edifici. E' probabile che l'artista abbia scelto come punto di vista gli Orti Farnesiani sul Palatino. La dedica, nel cartiglio con gli angeli al centro, è a Luigi XIV.
