COMINES, Philippe de
1614 1st English ed Memoires of Philippe Commines Louis XI France Charles VIII Philippe de Commines was a 15th-century Burgundian diplomat whose ‘Memoires’ helped him become the first critical and philosophical historian of modern literature. This collection of essays and entries reveal many of the faults and scandals of the reign of Louis XI. Even though Commines supported the king, the content of the ‘Memoirs’ portrays Louis XI negatively. Commines and this work is considered one of the primary sources of 15th-century European history. In addition to the court of Louis XI, Commines discusses Italian wars during the reign of Charles VIII of France. This 1614 first English edition, while it features a different title, is a fine translation of Commynes’ ‘Memoires’. It was translated into English by Thomas Danett and features genealogical tables at the end of the work. PLUTARQUE
Brunet, IV, 738. Restaurations habiles aux coins, coiffes et … [Click Below for Full Description]

Four Of the five Hard Cover Books In This Collection Are Signed By the Author & Four of the five books are 1st Edition Prints. All Books Are In Excellent, Clean Condition For Their Age! From my own collection of Hot Rod memorabilia, you will receive the following 5 Hard Cover Books photographed. They are authored by Don Montgomery. All but one book are first edition prints and all but one of the books are signed by Don. Each book gives an accurate, detailed look at the early days of Hot Rodding in Southern California. Each books front, back and all pages are in excellent, clean, intact condition with one book "Supercharged Gas Coupes" has a very small tear in the lower right hand corner of the paper sleeve cover (see last photo) and book "Hot Rods In The Forties" shows light rub marks on the front and back cover from shelf storing. If you were to buy these 5 books BRAND NEW on Amazon they would retail about $1614.00 and would obviously not be signed. These are highly collectible books for any Hot Rod aficionado!
