London, 1611: Robert Barker, 1611. CONDITION: THERE IS A STORY BEHIND EVERY BLEMISH! Bible leaf collectors know that some leaves are hard to look at and others look as new as the day they left the printing press. The condition of a particular leaf reflects its history and is not an indication of its actual value. Perfect leaves are ones that have seen little or no use over the centuries in contrast to those that are scarred by the ravages of time. Unblemished leaves are unloved leaves because they have had little contact with sinners. Imperfect leaves tell a story. Some are torn and ripped and worn away by excessive use while others have burns or worm holes and still others are water stained by flood and sometimes even tears. Each ugly mark or stain is in fact a beautiful witness to the Word of God, which, "liveth and abideth forever." We offer Bible leaves as we acquire them letting their condition speak for themselves. All our leaves are sold as seen on eBay. Contact us for additional images or information. Don't miss the bonus!!! Choice Leaves, Finer than Gold, from the Word of God Taste and see! Gaspar Gil Polo
París. Casa de Rob. Esteban, 1611. Diana enamorada is a composition made up of 5 books of pastoral genre, inspired by and created as a continuation of Jorge de Montemayor's Diana. It relates love stories of different shepherds (some of them, characters from Montemayor's book), although there are also stories of villagers and court characters. Gil chooses prose with high rhythmic conditions as his writing style, although he also includes numerous compositions in traditional verse, such as "Provencal" rhymes and "French" verses. However, unlike other works that only seek to demonstrate opulence, the poems, which are interspersed in the novel's prose, constitute essential parts of the narrative and are a logical consequence of the development of the plot. It also includes an epic chant in the third book, which serves as a catalogue of the Valencian authors of the time. Its success, although not immediate, meant its repeated edition, as well as its translation into various languages from the 18th century onwards. As a curiosity, Cervantes was one of its most interested readers, which is stipulated in Don Quixote, where it is said of this book that "it should be kept as if it were from Apollo himself". One of its main points of greatest importance is the inclusion of psychological features, especially in relation to jealousy, where it seeks to reject love-passion and propose a rational mastery of the feeling of love. In addition, it is aligned among the works that defend women (canto a Florisia). Although Gil Polo's work continues Montemayor's work, it is also a critique of the … [Click Below for Full Description]

Choice Leaves, Finer than Gold, from the Word of God Taste and see! It's sweeter than honey!! 1611. I have been selling on eBay for over 20 years and one thing I find annoying is the number of King James Bible leafs that are described as 1611 HE but are not, but from a later printing. This leaf and others being listed by me are from a genuine 1611 HE Bible, not only will I guarantee that forever but if you ever find that not to be the case you can return for a full refund,I will pay shipping back to me and for the inconvenience I will credit you an additional $50 refund beyond what you paid. That's how certain I am this is a true 1611 HE Bible leaf, this came from an incomplete copy and rebound and edges where re-margined and expertly done. As you can see on the binding it clearly states it as being a 1611 HE, also the original sales invoice which I will included a copy of. I also have an exact copy in my library of a 1611 HE and also digital versions that this has been verified against. I have complete later copies in my collection ie 1639/40 and I have been selling as I said earlier for over 20 years see my feedback so bid with confidence. This is the chapter heading for Isaiah and measures approx 15 by 11 inches with good margins. I typically do not break apart a Bible but as this is a small fraction of one and not complete its an opportunity to share it with other collectors. A good generally clean example ideal for framing. Greitt, Christoff
1611. 28 x 18 cm, Hinterlegt, etwas berieben. Vermutlich etwas beschnitten.

[Click Below for Full Description]
